As it was off season when we went to Riccione, the beach was fairly empty, so the children enjoyed building castles and digging holes. However there was a small cafe which was open, so my parents were able to get a cup of coffee.

    I love it !
Friendly atmosphere, I have only been there once but I have eaten food from all menu and more, the reason why I have not been there in person is that my dad used to ride his bike to Lo sfizioso and get food for all the family..
I think the best dishes are the fish one, such as Zuppa di pesce (fish soup), gamberi saltati con rucola (fesh prawns sirred fry with rocket). My grandma loved the ravioli, and the lasagne too !

    the marina

by uglyscot Updated Jan 27, 2013

The Marina by day is a pleasant place to visit, as it is always nice to see the boats.
The area is a centre of night time activity as there are a number of hotels and bars in the area.

In the last few years Riccione has set a new trend for the nightlife. On the Marano's beach (a place between Rimini and Riccione) a lot of new options to spend the night are born. From the original "Beach Cafè" several new nightclup opened the list include: A/B soul (nice but expensive and empty), Hakuna Matata (best day wednesday ), Beach Paradise (for younger people), Mojito, Cafe del Mar. In the summer these place are full of night life think about it like Miami's Ocean Drive. Other place in Riccione or in the neighborhood are: Pascia (a very cool disco on the hill of Riccione), Prince (Riccione), Villa delle Rose (Misano) and Cocoricò (Riccione)

by mortica Written Sep 17, 2005

There are very few restaurant that serve anything else than italian, so if you are tired of pizza, pasta ect., there is not much else to eat. We tried to find a mexican restaurant, but when we found it, there were nothing left of it :-(

At the end of the coast, on the rocks, you'll find a lot of lizards... very impressive if one of them touch you ;-)

I visited the Acquafun-water park during my last visit to Riccione! It was so much fun! No matter how old you are, you will sure enjoy it! And if you're not so much into pools and slides, just relax sunbathing!!!!

    Equipment: Swimsuits, towels, suncream!

Riccione Favorites

  • by morio Written Dec 17, 2007

Favorite thing: I have lived in Italy for 15 years and have always taken my holidays in Italy to see different areas. Unfortunately Riccione is better suited for someone on a package tour. Hotel are pushing the food plus lodging package and that has limited the restaurants in the area. There are a few very good ones but one needs a car to get out and find other good restauants. The town is down in heels and needs a face lift. This is sad because this was not the situation years ago. Also beware that many of the hotel cater to the bus trade especially Alexandra Plaza (part of the Fascioli group of hotels so be aware)which is advertised on the internet with photos that are doctored. It is definitly a bad hotel with poor management. We booked using the net but after a few days checked out and went elsewhere. I am not surprised that hotel doesn't show up on the list here. My husband is Italian and I think he was shocked at what he found in Riccione. The town needs to clean up its act.

Fondest memory: Sadly this trip there are not good memories. Some years ago it was a lovely beach resort now it is just a run down beach town.
