Once every year, on the first Sunday in July, there is a religious festival on the lagoon when a procession of decorated boats heads across to the Isola di Barbana. The festival is held for celebrating Grado's relief from a thirteenth-century outbreak of plague. This event is called the Perdon de Barbana.
I wasn't there during the festival time but our kind receptionist told us about the festival. I took the pictures from web.
This one is my dearest memory from Grado, small windows with wooden shutters coloured in olive green colour. All this windows are decorated by the flowers making it very cute scenery.
The house, with this windows, stands right opposite to the cathedral, you can't miss it.
Actually, I was a bit disapointed with Grado because many Italians told me there are lot of things to see in the town. In fact, Grado is considered as an historical place.
Luckilly, there are couple of beautiful stone houses in the town and, btw, stone houses are of my particular interest. This one, on the picture, is just great and I really like it.
Another example of stone house which attracted me very much. It is situated right next to the cathedral and its front facade looks very dynamic.
