You cannot miss this shop which is illuminated at night. The goods are gorgeous and beautiful.
Go there to try : odd pasta, ham (prosciutto), sausage (salame), mortadella, jars of vegetables, limoncello , (lemon liquor), local wines, etc.
Have a look at the amazing front window covered of vegetable jars.
And Luciano can explain in French (may be in English and surely in German) what marvellous foods there are in his jars.
What to buy: I bought there the famous prosciutto di San Daniele which is a Friul speciality and several packs of multicoloured pasta.
What to pay: A bit expensive but everything good and beautiful is expensive
What to buy:
We wished to get a large Italian coffee maker because the one we had at home was too small (only 6 cups).
This kind of ustensile is exposed to high temperatures and the handle gets broken rapidly.
So we needed a reliable brand. Bialetti is the best because the sturdiest.
The shop keeper proposed me a Bialetti 12 cups for 48 euros and an other brnad with 18 cups at 37 euros. I prefered the Bialetti.
30 Km from Lignano by the Motorway there is a recent centro commerciale (mall) at Palmanova which is open on Wednesday evening.
It looks like at some US outdoor mall though it is smaller.
What to buy: There are mainly clothing (women, men and kids), household articles and restaurants (pizzeria).
No, I didn't buy anything there (I didn't buy food out of restaurants, otherwise I would), but couldn't resist to stop and look, each time I passed in front of the shop - several times a day.
I don't know what is the strongest reason to attract people - maybe the very large window, maybe the geometric organization of the displayed items, maybe the sense of quality that the whole transmits, but this store should be a case study in merchandising.
At night, the perfect illumination enhances the views, and Salumeria da Luciano becomes the greatest monument in Lignano.
Vacation for Fernanda means... shopping (as a matter of fact everything means shopping for her...), and I tried to find a suitable program in Lignano. Well, it was not easy - it is a beach, and the local commerce reflects it. However, in all the ways to and from Lignano there was advertising of a great retail park in Palmanova.
Can you imagine how did I get the agreement of Fernanda to visit the walled city of Palmanova?
Outlet is not exactly her kind of shopping in Portugal, and in Italy it was... the same. Good!
