Before reaching Tarvisio, to the right of Camporosso, the Marian Sanctuary stands 1789 meters high on top of Mt Lussari, offering commanding views over the wide ring of the Julian Alps.

A slender campanile was added in the 17th century to the original 16th century stonework church. The sanctuary is known as an important house of worship dedicated to the Blessed Virgin and is visited by people coming from Italy, Slovenia and Germany

Whenever you are in Tarvisio I recommend you to go (by a local bus or by a car - scenic road) up to mountain lakes: Laghi di Fisine.
They have... green water hehe. And the region and the Julian Alps are beautiful. There are a few restaurants by the lakes.

Follow the road to Slovenia and Fusine Laghi (name of a mountain village). Then on the road to the lakes there are road signs "traffic forbidden" with some inscriptions in Italian but all Italian cars... drove there, I just followed them hehe
