I was feeling hungry on Sunday evening and although we had a late lunch I knew I must have something to eat. There did not appear to be any cafes open and we saw this restaurant 2 doors from our Pension. It was open and we were given a nice table where we could see the open fieplace and they were cooking various meals on the grate. This is the traditional Italian restaurant we had been hopeing to find and we scrutinised the menu to find some typical Italian meals.
We ordered 2 different pasta meals and bread, sorbet and cream brulee for desert, followed by coffee. Our meals were magnificent, excellent flavour and large serve, the dessert was very nice and the coffee very good. Total cost for 2 persons was 29 Euros, for close to the best meal we had in Europe over the last 6 weeks. How lucky were we to find such a good restaurant, and also to be in a character restaurant which has been operating for a long time, the fireplace being over 300 years old.

The ambience is romantic, cosy and warm. We got there after a long trip from France that morning and longed for a good meal to warm our tired bods and hungry enough to satisfy our descerningly spoiled tastebuds. Well we were in for a great surprise.
Situated where the old medieval moat of the Bracciano Castle used to be this restaurant is tucked away amongst palm plants right in the centre of the Bracciano village...only 150metres from the famous Odescalchi castle. The owners italian tenor Domenico canizzaro and his wife Aurora chatted happily and treated us as old friends,with good old-fashioned Italian hospitality. They travelled all over the world performing and eating at the finest restaurants. Now they said, they wanted to create their own haven providing genuine italian fare with only the best of the finest italian ingredients.Food,we were told, is their passion. Judging by the quality of our food we have to agree that they are living up to their promise. 'We don't believe in 'tourist' menus. There is no descrimination here. We only cater for fine italian meals. If you want to taste Italian,you've got to eat what the locals eat.And the locals generally steer away from the tourist menu because often it promises economy of price but unfortunately delivers poor quality in taste'.
Favorite Dish: 'Funghi porcini impanati in salsa di sesamo' (Porcini mushrooms in sesame sauce).
'Ravioli di ricotta di buffala e caviale in crema di zafferano'.(Ravioli with buffalo ricotta and caviar topped with saffron cream).
'Scaloppina di carne al Baileys Irish cream'.
and dessert;
'Pera con cioccolato al peperoncino'.(Baked pear with warm chocolate and chilli).
