The best way to get to Monte Cassino is to do it by car. From Rome take highway A1 towards Napoli and after about 100km you will see exit Cassino. It takes about 1.5 hour if there is no traffic. Avoid to take a highway late in the evening on Sundays and Saturdays (around 6-8pm) because Romans are coming back form weekend trips at this time and there can be a traffic.
