I think the person who complained of the cold must have been unlucky. I stayed in the 'new' town last week and it was 30 degrees centigrade at midnight one night!.
There seem to be two clearly defined areas in Fiuggi, the 'new' section around the marvellous Boniface Spa & the beautiful historic area sited higher up in the hills.
You really need some form of transport to make the best of the area but, if you just want a relaxing break, try the Spa, play golf or use local buses to visit neighbouring towns.

REGARDING THE WEATHER.
During the summer months the temperature is normally 29 / 30 centigrade during the day.
In the evening there is a sharp drop usually to 19/20 centigrade, giving Fiuggi an ideal climate particularly for visitors used to an uncomfortable 40 centigrade day temperature in the cities.
It would be impossible anywhere in the world to give a guaranteed long distance weather report.
Often we have a Sirocco, warm air coming from Africa at other times colder air coming from the north of Europe. This applies to the whole of Italy not only Fiuggi! So to say that Fiuggi is COLD during the summer months is unfair!
Fiuggi is not on a high mountain as discribed by Ozalf, but in the hills, 80km south of Rome.
Fiuggi Fonte 621mt a.s.l.
Fiuggi Città 747 mt a.s.l.
The Ernici mountain chain 2000mt a.s.l. Can been see in the distance from the town

It is very sad to read Ozalf’s comments on her short stay in Fiuggi.
If I am not mistaken she was with a group on a coach tour visiting Rome? For 3 days?
I know Fiuggi very well, and I can assure travellers that it is a charming Italian town.
Perhaps on a couch tour visitors are only able to explore a limited area of the town and only in the evenings as they are visiting Rome, Pompeii and other places of interest during the day.
A car really is essential in this area.
A lot of the small family run restaurants and pizzerias are scattered around the area and also in the old town.
There are vine groves with vine tasting, olive groves, a lake, an 18 hole golf course and sports centre 2 Outdoor and One indoor swimming pool. Discos, ice-cream parlous, open air bars with music and dancing in the evenings.

In Fiuggi the day temperature during the summer months is usually in the 30's with the advantage of LOW humidity, NO air pollution and a cooler evening temperature, which is very welcome.
For this reason the Italians, feeling the difference in temprature after a long hot day, wear a light jumper or cardigan in the evenings.
UNLIKE ROME Rome where the Rome Metropolitan area air quality indicators for particulate matter and nitrogen dioxide are sometimes beyond the limits set in the EU directives on air quality,.
High temperatures, humidity and air pollution, with the level so high that cars are sometimes banned from the Rome city centre
Traffic being the main source of high CO, C6H6 and PM10 concentration

During our Rome trip we stayed in Fiuggi. After hot days in Rome we returned to Fiuggi with t-shirts and we chilled. Everybody except us was wearing long sleeved shirts and sweaters in this small town.
Don’t think that it is August and the weather will be hot all over the Italy. Take some jerseys and long pajamas for Fiuggi. The weather of high mountains is always cold.

Fiuggi is a little spa town. We stayed there for our Rome trip. It is 1-2 hour far from Rome. Locals were generally retired Italians, there were not many foreign tourists there.
