 | Rome Nightlife | Tips 1 - 10 of 321 | | Bar del Fico is located in a small square, not far from Piazza Navona. We had a couple of drinks here before dinner one night. Drinks were reasonably priced and there were plenty of free bar snacks! There is a large outside terrace which is a great place to relax and do some people watching. Leave a Comment

One of my favourite things to do in Rome in the evening is to watch the sun set and then the city light up. Many of the fabulous buildings are flood lit, really making them stand out and look even more beautiful than they do during the day. Just take a wander around the centre of town - it is full of locals and tourists alike, enjoying the bars and restaurants and the vibe of Roma!

Thanks to a tip that I read on VT before our latest trip to Rome, we popped to Vineria il Chianti one evening and had a fabulous night. We were lucky enough to get a seat out the front in a small courtyard, and settled back to enjoy a glass or 3 of some delicious Italian wines. There is an extensive wine list and also a fabulous food menu. Service was friendly and efficent, and a great night was had by all - I highly recommend this place!
We were pretty daggy looking.....had been site seeing all day... Leave a Comment Theme: Eating and DrinkingAddress: Via del Lavatore 81-82, RomePhone: 06 678 7550Directions: Just off Piazza di Trevi

Jonathan's Angels is one of the most bizarre bars I have ever been to. It is owned by an ex-circus acrobat, Jonathan, who is also a bit of an artist......the bar is decorated in paintings of the man himself, impersonating famous people - eg. Jonathan as the Pope, Jonathan as Napoleon etc Any wall space not covered with paintings of Jonathan is covered with other quirky paraphernalia. But the most bizarre of all is the toilet, which is worth a visit, even if you don't need to "go". Staff are friendly and drinks are good, but not cheap - well worth a visit though!!
No one takes any notice of you, there is too much else to see here!! Leave a Comment

The best nightlife in Rome is not inside a club with music blaring and people dancing, but at tables outside a piazza. The passeggiata is always the event of the evening, but a drink after dinner requires a table that is open out to the street or the piazza. Isn’t watching night fall the best way to end the day, just as watching sun rise the best way to start it? Leave a Comment Theme: Other

Great place in the heart of trastevere!! Up to the 08pm the atmosphere is soft and relaxing with nice music. Great the low couches and the soft lights. Excellent as it tea room or for eat a creps. The evening, up to late night, the music increases the volume and becomes chillout, the cocktails are excellent and the atmosphere becomes crazy. Not to lose!!! Leave a Comment

This former stable area with its rowdy wine bars has remained true to its history in one way. It is now the rowdiest nightclub area of Rome - cars jam the parking lot - people line up for entrance to clubs that offer something for every taste (from discos to alternative open air and gay clubs on certain nights) and every wallet - lots of sleaze, nasty bouncers, and a distinct Bohemian atmosphere. The young locals are there enforce on any given night; but, of course, the weekends are a madhouse. It is far enough from residential neighborhoods to be no nuisance and in a not very desirable area - but if you're looking for decadant nightlife - this IS the place. Photo 4 - A snippet of history on pre-nightclub Monte Testaccio - with excavated caverns housing rowdy wine bars and stables - at the time was not touched by the development of the new quarter and its inhabitants were proud of the new rione symbol, a testae, the amphorae used by the ancient Romans to contain wine and oil. OTHER NOTABLE CLUBS - Amnesia (the club with the glass floor) - great club for people in their 20's & 30's. Also, ICE CLUB, Via Della Madonna Dei Monti, 20 is a MUST see - so cold its HOT - made entirely of Ice (they give you a warm-up wrap so you can stay while you drink to warm up!) The first one we saw was in Milano.
Whatever! Theme: NightclubDirections: Testaccio area - Trastevere side of Tiber

Rome may not be the hippest of capitals, but for those who know the right places, it is possible to party all night. Dolce Vita's days are far away but Romans still love to go out late and the fun only really commences after dinner. The wine-bars and caf?s lying between Campo de? Fiori, Piazza Navona and Via della Pace are the places to be seen. Irish pubs are also popular with Italians and expatriates, and can be a good place for a fun and informal night out. The biggest concentration of nightclubs lie in the Testaccio and Ostiense districts. One of the main drags in Testaccio, Via di Monte Testaccio, is literally lined with bars, pubs, live music venues and clubs. In Ostiense the scene has taken off in recent years and this is where to find some of the hippest new bars and so-called ristodisco, places where you can both eat and dance. This place is one of those "slash" places. Part restaurant / bar / pub / club. Whatever you want to call it, it is a good time. This place was jam packed with a bunch of crazy Italians and tourists. Thats what my guidebook said, thats what it was. They have drink specials late into the night, which I found other clubs did not do. The snack food was not worrth writing home about. Give it a pass by eating before you go out. Also, they will try and make you buy a "membership" pass for the year, for 5 Euro. If you aren't too big of a group, I am sure that you will be able to talk your way out of it like we did. It is located in Trastevere, so its a bit of a hike out, but worth it in the end. 9pm-3am Sun, Mon; Wed-Fri; 9pm-4am Sat; closed Tue Leave a Comment Theme: NightclubAddress: Via di Monte Testaccio, 65bPhone: 39 065750044Directions: In the Testaccio quarter in Trastevere
