Le Naumachie Ristorante Pizzeria: Dining and Nightlife at Isola Tiberina
What makes the restaurant interesting is its location --in the middle of Tevere at Isola Tiberina. The ambience is not sassy or classy but if one is looking for fresh air, with the humming sound of the river's current, is a one-of-a-kind experience.
Favorite Dish: Try the red-bean soup, (which is actually very good for vegetarians like me). It was a complete dish in itself coz of its thick broth, and the "secret spices" that it has that I cant figure out (hoping to cook it similarly).. it gives a full taste to the mouth. It goes well with white wine also.

Le Naumache di Micheli Alfredo: excellent dinner
Recommended by our nearby hotel. They were right!
Friendly, traditional place (but not touristy in any way!).
Not a huge menu, but still plenty of choice. The service was good and informal, but not "too" friendly. Its nice to be treated as a normal customer and not as a tourist!
It has outdoor tables (with heaters for winter), presumably to service smokers and dog owners.
Favorite Dish: I had ruota luganica (a "regional" sausage) with potatoes and veg. Excellent. My buddy had home made pasta with clams - different but good!
€38 for 2 main courses & 1 big salad, 2 desserts, half bottle of local red, water etc. Good value.

Le Naumachie: Reasonable Place East of the Colosseum
In the theme of an ancient Roman sailing ship, the food was excellent, courteous service and very reasonable prices.
Favorite Dish: The pizza and wine was great.
