There are three seating areas: 1) outdoors during clement weather, 2) inside and upstairs, and 3) in a vaulted area that once formed part of the Theatre of Pompey built in 55 BCE.
We've eaten at Pancrazio twice, in 1994 (inside) and 2006 (vaulted area). The food is nothing to write home about, though the lamb chops were nicely prepared -- and there's every kind of pasta that a carbohydrate lover could want.
The real attraction of the restaurant is knowing that you're sitting (and eating) in a spot through which Cæsar, Pompey, Cicero, Crassus, and others may once have strolled.
Favorite Dish:
My wife thinks the Monte Bianco (a dessert) one of the wonders of the world.
