Pizza Rustica: Great Pizza Rustica near Piazza del Popolo

This is a very popular way to eat pizza in Rome. It is not the round one served in a regular pizzeria, but the one you buy by weight. It is also called pizza a taglio.
It is open all day but it gets particularly busy at lunch time between 1 and 2 pm. You can eat standing inside or take away. It can be a good option if you decide to do a pic-nic inside Villa Borghese that is located just around the corner.
They also have Lasagna and Calzoni

Pizza Rustica: Pizza Rustica: grab and go pizza

Meals need not be expensive in Rome, especially a quick lunch. We loved stopping into pizza rustica shops around town for a slice of pizza and a drink to go. You will find these small shops all over the place. When you enter, you will see all kinds of pizzas ready to go. Simply request the kind you want (if you don’t have a common language, pointing works well). The shop clerk will cut the slice as big as you like, weigh it, and you pay by the weight. Typically a meal with drink can run you about €5 per person (obviously that depends on how much pizza you can eat and how heavy the toppings are – sausage will be heavier than veggies). Some of the best pizza you will ever eat can be found in these places!

The food here was only yummy. When we were walking from Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore to di Sant'Alfonso . We fancied something small to eat ..Next to the small church there was a lot of locals coming out of this fast pizzeria spot ...When we went in we were famished and our eyes bigger than our bellies.
There was loads of choice as pizza toppings go ... Alll set out in front of you . You pick what you want and then they weigh it ... V. big slices . There is some stools in side there , but its up to you if you want to grab n go ..or sit in there .
They were v. friendly there , Language really doesn't matter as all you are doing is pointing at what you want ..

Inside there is a lot of family pictures with the chef and i guess italian celebs ,They have won a lot of awards too and no wonder .
    Why isn't this in Ireland!!!

Favorite Dish: i tried so many u have to sample them all.. veg one is lovely . cheese .
