Castel Sant'Angelo caught at night through a bridge over Tiber.
The ancient Rome grew around Tiber, especially by the side behind me when I was taking this pic.
This began as the mausoleum of Emperor Hadrian. It was converted into a fortress for the popes in 6th century AD.
Walk to the top for a great view of St. Peters and also other sites in Rome.
This is the view you will have of the very top of the castle from the roof... it's really impressive.
This unusually round structure is a nice place to go to get an early morning photo of the Vatican. The castle itself is most spectacular from the outside.
For the people of Ghent (Belgium). Please be aware that the statue of the Angel standing on top of the castle is made by a Genteneir.
Castel S. Angelo. It is situated not far from Piazza San Pietro. As the majority of the museums, closed on Monday.
