ostia - was the harbour of ancient Rome which was founded in 620 BC perhaps started off as a military control or fort like thing.
You get to see preserved ruins of thermal baths with beautiful mosaic art, sanctuaries, monuments, forums, temples etc

Address: I will look it up.
You can see many different buildings in Ostia; theatres, temples, houses, shops...
You can see the famous house of Diana which used to be several stories high.

You find many good examples of the beautiful roman mosaics in Ostia. This floor is in a building to the right on the main street. You can walk up some steps and see it from the top.

In summer you can spend some hours or days in Ostia, it is a nice town with an interesting archicectural site.I really don't reccommend to swim in Ostia, but its seaside deserves a walk.
