cool to sit after a afternoons shopping in the many desighner clothes shops but avoid evenings as they are taken over by hundreds of youths drinking wine and singing a bit intimidating

Famous gathering place for hordes of tourists, these 138 steps were built around 1725 and lead up to the Trinita dei Monti church. The house where Keats died is just off the steps.

This Roman column have virgin Mary's statue. Built in 1857 cause Pope Pius IX wanted to show his respect to Mary. You can see it just next to Spanish steps easily.

    Spanish Steps, Rome...

The first thing I arrived to was The Spanish Steps !
The Italians call this Scalinata della Trinita dei Monti.
Too many people when I was there, still early morning...

Maybe I missed something, but what is the point of going to the spanish steps when there is so much better to see in Rome?

A postcard: my photos? Too crowded with people:)

A traditional place of gathering in Rome. To the point you may find difficulty in getting yourself a place to sit on:))

    More to come!

    The Spanish Steps

Built in 1723, they received their name from the Spanish Embassy. They have been the place to be seen for hundreds of years.

Piazza di Spagna bustles with people who hang around, watching the crowd or just taking a break on the historical flight of steps built around 1726.

A picturesque stairwell in the foreign quarter that got it's name from the nearby Spanish embassy to the Vatican.
