I'm sure when you think of Rome you would never think of Piazza del Quirinale but it is a rather attractive square with a great view of Rome because it is higher up. It's lined with palaces and ancient statues, there is an obelisk and a fountain of course, all this typifies Roman elegance. There were only a few tourists so it is rather peaceful. A guard at the Quirinal Palace sternly told me to get away from the palace as I was trying to get a look inside. Going down the stairs to the right will lead you to Trevi fountain. Following Via del Quirinale veering to the left will lead you to the Imperial Forum.

The 17th century church of Santi Domenico e Sisto has a beautiful Baroque façade. A chapel inside the church was decorated by Bernini.
