Where Julius Caeser was cremated by Webboy Located near the centre of the Roman forums, just across from the Arch of Augustus, this is apparently where the great Julius Caeser was finally cremated. It is obviously a shadow of its former self, however it does still hold a certain eeriness about it. To think that you are standing right next to where one of the greatest men in history once lay is a little overwhelming. The ashes of Julius Caeser are apparently not here, however the spot where he was cremated is still covered with fresh flowers to this day, a mark of how big an impact he had on the history of Italy. It's me throwing a coin by FinElina Trevi Fountain was a funny place. It was very different from the fountain I had imagined in my head.. Daytime or nighttime, didn't matter, it was always full of tourists, pigeons and cameras flashing. Well, I admit I did throw a coin over my shoulder, wishing to come back again, but I didn't really enjoy the tourist crowds. The atmosphere there was unique, though, the fountain must be a real attraction, I think. Leave a Comment

Vista from St.Peter's church by FinElina When you're visiting Rome, be sure NOT to miss Vatican city! It's one of the most incredible places I've been to! We took the underground to Vatican city and of course it was full of people, even more than full.. But the beauty of the art for example in architecture and museums we saw there, replaced all the painful underground journey! The frescos, the Sicstine chapel, the art..... It took us several hours to see all the museums had to offer but it was definitely worth it! At the end of the visit, we climbed to the top of he St. Peter's churh (don't even consider using the elevator, CLIMB all the way, it's actually fun!). The landscape was incredible and the cool air breeze was really something after the sweaty climbing! Leave a Comment

Forum Romanum by FinElina After seeing the Coliseum we went to see the Roman Forums. They're located just a few steps from The Coliseum so it shouldn't be hard to find. It was actually quite interesting to see the ancient ruins, the ancient CITY... the area is huge so reserve time to see it all! We also visited the Capitoline Hill; a very beautiful place but not that much to see or do when the heat is burning your skin red.... Leave a Comment

Inside the Coliseum by FinElina The Coliseum is probably the best-known sight in Rome. Therefore, I had to see it too. The queue is always enormously long but to the friends of architecture and ancient ruins it is worth standing in the burning sun... =) During our visit there was a Nike-exhibition which was quite intriguing. Why aren't you fighting? by biggeorge This place is spectacular and full of bloody tour groups. They should make the tourists fight each other ,it'd be much more fun ,or just chase em about with tigers and lions. Leave a Comment
