Like the Seine in Paris, the Tiber splits Rome in half and in ancient times provided the highway out of Rome.

“The Broken Bridge” is a nickname for the ancient Ponte Emilio, built in 179 B.C. and partly destroyed by the river’s flood in 1598.

According to legend, the River Tiber was where the twins Romulus and Remus were abandoned in a basket, when they were born.

    Bridge over the Tiber

There was a surreal beauty in Rome just after the sun rises. I soft light and reflection without the crowds just added to the moment.

Not sure what this area of Rome was called. Or what the bldg in the background was.

But, I thought this was a nice picture.
