Alternative transportation via the Tevere by icunme I have noticed that they have passenger boat transportation along the Tevere and I'm told that there are 8 (9 if you count Ostia) station stops - 1 Euro. Looks like fun! The cruise to Ostia is only 11 Euro - There are a selection of dinner and wine cruises available also. Some are bookable on-line. For the special tourist ride - you can sail from Sant'Angelo dock towards Tiberina Island continuing then up to Risorgimento Bridge. This is your opportunity to re-study 2750 years of history. The service provides 4 daily departures: at 09:30, 11.00 a.m; 12.30 a.m; 04.00 p.m; 5.30 p.m The duration of the tour is 1 hour and 10 minutes and the cost is 10 Euro. The service operates all year round, holidays included, except for circumstances beyond control.

by belgianchocolate I realise that this is hardly a tranportation tip... BUT , I enjoyed it so much. If your having your day of , no museums that day or you had you portion already , go to the artificial lake in Villa Borghese. 3 Euro for 20 minutes a person isn't little , I realize that. But you can chase the turtles , wave at the 20th century statues in the roman temple and just relax.... Leave a Comment Theme: Other

Castel Sant'Angelo as seen from a river boat by Sarita76 River boats are a pretty new way of getting around this beautful city and see Rome from the Tiber, the most ancient monument. I left from Calata Anguillara, a few steps from Tiberina Island, and went to Ponte Duca d'Aosta and then the same way back. You have the chance to see the city from another point of view and I highly recommend this experience! Leave a Comment

by lovecell In the sixties, the cheapest way to go around the world, was by ship, but it could take you a lot of time, in fact, from Australia, we took nearly one month to get to Italy...but that was another period, now, everything is fast, fast food, fast emotions, fast love...but I still have the old fashion style....I take it so easy and long...and I'm still, so lazy....and I wish that I'll remain always a kid... Not everybody has to be clever and wise...!! I like to be stupid and dumb....and my values are next to zero, so primitive...so simple and plain... ...I suppose that too many people have such big brilliant ideas....me not many....just peace and (maybe some love) ..but I have to admit, that I don't make the world turn around much....but I don't care anymore... Too many feelings and hate around... I just don't want to give trouble or to be troubled! I just want to see the sun, the land, the rain, and breathe and smell the air, not much more I'm interested in....just waiting to die... Ah you might think it's so sad what I say...but talk to me and I'll make you laugh!!!!! ahaahhaha Leave a Comment Theme: Other

by ncfg In September 2008 i traveled with Grimaldi Prestige Ferries from Barcelona to Civitavecchia, near Rome. The crossing time was twenty one hour. It was a nice experience, the food was ok and the cabin was small but fine. Leave a Comment Theme: Ship/Boat
