to this, pretty beautiful archway in the ancient Roman area. These remains can be found one level up from sea level. Terracina bus terminal is quite large but directly opposite the bar built into the side of the mountain is a staircase ............. if walking this is the quickest way up to the next level. When you reach the top you will see a fountain (I will put it up on off the beaten path) walk past and take the left hand route to the town piazza. A little way along you will see the archeological sign indicating the archway on your right.......before the piazza.
We stopped to have a rest and I thought that I was hallucinating...(very, very hot and wishing that I wasn't there)...We had a debate about this supposed township ......... I remember saying it looks really quiet, before I finally realised that it was Terracina Cemetery.
We was in Terracina in october 2006. What a wonderful experience. The weather was fine and the temperature more than 25 degrees all sunny days. The beach and the sea was so warm and the air, clean and fresh. Dont' forget to visit an incredible church named "Chiesa del Purgatorio" in the old historical center, never seen something so unusual. But a must is an aperitive in the Municipio Square, you can seat on the old Appia Street, 2000 years old.
The Duomo is central to this picture and the first thing you see upon entering the piazza. There are a couple of bars with outdoor seating and to the left an Art Gallery.
