The are several "tour guides" out in front of the Villa d'Este estate that offer guided tours of the Villa at a cost additional to the enterance fee.

Unique Suggestions: The gardens are the main attraction and you do not need a guide to see them.

Fun Alternatives: You can purchase your ticket at the enterence and go through the house on your own and do not need a tour guide as the house is a small part of this site.

Tivoli is probably the most popular excursion from Rome and should not be missed. It's less than an hour's drive and and what awaits you are the most beautiful gardens and fountains in all of Italy.
