Aerial view of Cristoforo Colombo Airport by Carletto76 Cristoforo Colombo airport (GOA) is very close to the city, and really among the water! Landing in Genova is really exciting, the planes fly from Portofino to the airport along the whole lengh of Genova, with a terrific view if you seat on the right side of the plane! The airport is connected to the city centre by bus (number 100) or taxis. There are no train stations right there, just a couple not so close and not in a great zone. There are regular flights to/from London (BA, RyanAir), Paris (AirFrance), Munich (AirDolomiti/Lufthansa) and domestic flights to/from Rome, Milan, Naples, Catania and Palermo. To get there by car take the motorway at Genova Ovest and the follow the direction "Ventimiglia". After few minutes you will reach the exit "Genova Aeroporto". Leave a Comment

genoa - foce by utttz get out here if you have to go to the brignole railway station (in the middle of the pic) or Marassi "luigi ferraris" stadium or the international fair (bottom) in the "foce" area. remember to sit on the left side to check when to exactly get out the plane... from the left you will only sea the sea Leave a Comment Theme: Airplane

Genova's small and very convenient airport is well served by major airlines. Since there are no longer any direct flights from LAX to anywhere in Italy, it can be a more convenient gateway to where you're going. For example, whereas I used to fly into Milano, I could now connect from LAX-Paris directly to Genova. Consider your options when flying into Italy and if you're going to the Ligurian Coast give it a try. The airport is amply served by Alitalia (terrible) Air France and other airlines. Theme: Airplane

by utttz landing in Genoa can be really breathtaking: both for the view (sit on the right side) and for the wind! Usually you'll land coming from the east and you'll have all the eastern riviera and the genoa itself on your right. Even though landing in genoa means the end of the trip, it's definetly my 'preferred landing'! second place to madrid - it seems to fly over a model third place: cuzco - it's rather strange to see lamas very near and at your same altitude when you're still flying! http://www.airport.genova.it in the historical centre you can only walk, the rest is a traffic jam.... I really don't know if rent a car could be a good idea.... I'm used to it, but I think it's very easy to get lost driving in genoa. Leave a Comment Theme: Airplane

cheaper than a taxi by bonio From Cristoforo Colombo airport bus #100 runs to Stazione Pricipe every 1/2 hour, it costs just €2.07 and takes around 25 mins - good value. Buy the ticket from the driver and don't forget to validate it in the yellow box. Leave a Comment

What do you expect for a quid ?! by sourbugger From London, Genoa is an ideal location for a weekend break - for two main reasons. Firstly the airport is only six kilometers from the centre of town (see other tip on transport) Secondly, Ryanair has well-timed has flights at 7.00 Am in the morning and 18.45 in the early evening. Flights back include one at around 10.15 PM This means you can get two full days on a weekend, or two nights if you can knock off from work a bit early on the Friday. Leave a Comment
