12 April 2013: I'm fixing the photos here, and might use the occasion to write a bit about Boccadasse, a lovely hamlet just minutes east of Genoa. As soon as I have time to write and put my pics in order.

    Genua - Boccadasse

Boccadasse is a small fishing-village inside of Genua that kept its old character because there is almost NO car trafic, lots of fishingboats may be seen on the stoney beaches and there are lots of great fish-restaurants
Just follow the beach boulevard coming from Genua-port until you see the church on the right (the one on my 2nd picture !) and when the main street is leaving the beach, making a sharp bend to the left, you came to the right place to park your car and walk to Boccadasse

    Boccadasse

Boccadasse is one of the most beautiful and romantic places in Genova. It's a small fishermen district, a "small Portofino" inside the big Genova, with its old coloured houses, its small fishermen harbour and it's great ice-creams, so loved by genoese people!
You cannot leave Genova without going to Boccadasse, expecially if you are in love! ;-)
You can either come here by day or yby night or, even better, both in day and at night, maybe at sunset... Boccadasse is always a magic place! And remember to eat an ice-cream! ;-)

    Corso Italia in Winter...

Corso Italia is the promenade of Genova... maybe not beautiful as the one in Nice, it's anyway a nice street to walk along, expecially in summer, or at Saturday night. If you go there in summer you can go to one of the several private beaches, but you have to pay and the sea is not so clean (the port is near!).
It's a good idea to walk along the whole Corso Italia (about 3Km) to go to the wonderful Boccadasse, if it's a sunny day, it would really be a great walk along the sea!

    Boccadasse Cove

Boccadasse, is a very nice little neighbourhood, it's world wide famous for the beauty of the gulf and for the wonderful restoration . Presently the village is surrounded by the expanding city, yet it is still untouched in its structure and atmosphere. Down the steps to the sea and there, nestled into the rocky shoreline this tiny, old fishing village with its small harbor lined with fishing boats pulled up onto its rocky beach. The contrast of the old with the new is extraordinary.

boccadasse cove (pic from genoa site)

Another place to go when you're in Genoa is boccadasse. A small ancient sea village like portofino in the middle of the town.
You can easily get there by bus (#31) from brignole railway station or from the genoa international fair.
go in boccadasse just to see the place or have a coffee or an icecream.... Boccadasse is very crowded on friday and saturday 'warm' night . In boccadasse you can also find one of the most expensive restaurant in genoa (vittorio al mare).
