When going to Nervi from the Ligurian Coast - simply do, what the nice Lady from the Taxi-service "pollon" suggested :
TAKE THE TRAIN !!!
Its easy, its fast, and trains will not need to search for a parking...
Or when coming from Genua you might as well take Bus 15 !!
Or take your motorbike, like ambassadore San Paolo would do !!
You may check the timetable of trains on my link below !

a boat would be for sure nicer and more charming and I don't mean a ferry but... it's not so easy as to say it... so the mean of transport I would suggest is the train expecially because in wee ligurian towns like this to park is a nightmare...

from Genoa centre, more precisely in the old harbour zone (il porto antico), the bus nr. 15 brings to Nervi - the bus stop is next to San Giorgio Palace - but depending on the moment of the day an on the traffic, it could take long, very long... so I go on suggesting the train...
note: if you decide for the bus, remember to buy the ticket before getting in, you can get one at any newspaper kiosk or "tabaccheria" for the price of 1 euro and you can use it on other busses too provided it's within 1 hour and half since its punching.

Nervi is a suburb of Genova and is one of those stations all the trains stop at. Unlike Bogliasco.
It's got a newsagents and a cafe - the cafe doesn't seem to have a gabinetto and if you go in looking for one they shout at you to use the one on the station. Bit rude. But the cafe does a very nice and reasonably priced cafe macchiato.

In my experience it is a bit unusual to have a free toilette on a railway station in Italy. And not a unisex one either. The mens has two squats and the ladies has one squat plus a wheelchair thingo. (Suppose that is unisex.)
Golly those squats are hard work if you are not used to them. A friend suggested they should have a handle on the wall to help the old ladies get up - and I reckon they should.
Anyway, I was out all night clubbing in Genova and got back to Nervi about 8 am (going to walk back to Bogliasco through the park and watch the pretty squirrels) so I went to use the facilities.
They were being cleaned which is great and a mop was propped across the door. I asked the young cleaner when I could use them. He said to use the mens. I said I would wait until I could use the ladies. He told me I had to use the mens and what he said went. He propped another mop across the door and he said he would never open it for me.
I was on a short fuse and exploded at him. Told him something like - Farrrk you mate - I'll just go and *** in the park.
But I made it home fine. If I had been really desperate I would have found a cafe that did have a gabinetto.
I was sorry I flew off the handle at him but it had been a long night.

It's mid February, the sun is shining, it's warm enough to sit outside without a coat, no wonder so many Brits choose to live abroad!
