    Big Parco.

Go to the big parco which stretches from the railway station nearly to Bogliasco and includes two villas which are museums.
Sit quietly and watch as every nonna in Nervi brings a kid with a plastic bag full of nuts and watch the bandit squirrels appear and catch the hazel nuts on the rebound.
It is as funny as a fight as they crouch with their bounty in their mouth and another nonna plus kid arrives with a bag of walnuts - and then another with a bag of peanuts. You can see it in their eyes. They begin to panic.
No wonder I was not a great success when I arrived really early with a plastic bag - they appeared - I made the throwing gesture they recognised but all I threw was disgusting apple and bruschetta. The squirrels shot up a tree, fixed me with their squirrelly eyes, vibrated their tails and said - chook chook chook chook.
As near as anything they were telling me to vaffanculo with my disgusting apple and bruschetta.
If the rustle of the plastic bag doesn't get them the kids tap two nuts together. Chonk chonk chonk. The sound echoes around the park. These are very well fed squirrels.
When this palls you might get lucky and see the old gent with the plastic bag give a citrus tree - they looked like little bitter oranges - a vigorous shake (after a furtive glance around) and collect the windfalls.
A twist to the games in the park is to sit quiet and still with your back against a tree until you hear the scratch of claws. A squirrel shinnies down the tree and pops his head around to check you out.

the roseto is to see only pay attention that you are in the right period of the year for the blooming of roses ;-)...
and if you are asking why on hell I took a pic of this faded rose, it's because I owe it a kindness...

    Park in Nervi

by draguza Written Feb 1, 2009
    Nervi's Park

This park has created a habitat for the typical plant life of the Riviera such as pine, ilex and palm trees but you can also find rare exotic trees. Within the park of Villa Serra there is the Gallery of Modern Art where you can admire a vast range of Ligurian art of the 19th and 20th centuries. Well represented are the works of Barabino.

I know my pic isn't so thrilling, I realized it even before taking it seeing what I was framing but I wanted to show you what kind of promenade you have under your feet...
