... in Nervi - which it does from time to time - rivers of water rush down from the hills and turn the charming narrow streets into rivers. And there are no awnings on the charming little houses so waterfalls of water fall straight off them on top of you - and all in all one can feel like one is getting drowned. An umbrella is essential but actually not enough.
Then a car flashes past and a wave from their backwash completes the - I am drowning - feeling.
But I had to laugh. I had to wade - no, not wade, swim! - down to the post office and I saw three old ladies seeking shelter in this phone box.
I noticed all the little bars put umbrella stands out by their front door when it rains. Perhaps one should park one's umbrella and seek shelter in a bar until the sun comes out again.

please don't do this, it's not a custom, it's a bad habit... maybe I'm exaggerrate to think that plants grow better (I was said once) if you speak to them but why shall we arrogate the right to use them like paper on which to write???... please don't...
