By the marina, there is a small market on the square underneath the trees. There are street vendors selling fresh fruit and also beach products such as buoys.
We bought some fresh fruit on a street vendor and it surely was worth it as it was very tasty. I guess prices were about average, being that Portovenere is a touristy destination in this area.
Street stalls: Maps and guides
I found many street stalls with travel books and maps of Portovenere and Cinque Terre walking along the Passegiata Aldo Moro by the flat coastline of the Poet's Gulf. They were in a few most popular languages (surely in German, English and Italian).
What to buy: Maps and travel books on Portovenere and Cinque Terre.
Olives: Ceramics and olive oil
Ceramics and olive oils sold in this store are specialities of Portovenere and Liguria.
What to buy: Ceramics (if you like it) and olive oil.
Street stalls: Postcards
I found a few bookstalls selling postcards (but no stamps), newspapers, travel books and small gifts on the main street of Portovenere.
What to buy: Amazing postcards.
