In Rapallo you can take the ferry to Santa Margherita Ligure, Portofino and San Fruttuoso. The ferry harbour is in the centre of the promenade.
It's easier to park your car in Rapallo and take the boat to the other towns than to drive to Portofino and try to get rid of your car overthere!

The beautiful promenade extends for four hundred meters following the coast. It draws an arc starting from the touristic harbour till the castle. It's dotted by palm trees and benches where the retired go to have a chat or read a newspaper. On the promenade line the luxurious liberty style hotels built in the early Twentieth century.

A stroll in Via Mazzini is a pleasure. On the narrow street line old and new shops, where to taste the wonderful specialties of the Ligure cuisine. Via Mazzini is the commercial heart of the town, beaten especially by the young who meet there their friends.

Rapallo is one of those very pretty towns at the Riviera di Levante. It has some very nice shops and some fine hotels and restaurants.
