Piero & Daniela have a little slice of heaven. The trattoria over looks the Bay of Tigullio with fantastic views during the day & at night. That & the very friendly service by Daniela & Monica!
Favorite Dish: I usually start with an Antipasto di Mare or the Spaghetti di Mare - but the pesto is also 'ottimo'. Then I would go for a Spigola (sea bass) or an Orata (sea bream) ala Ligure (cooked in the oven with thinly sliced potatoes, locally grown olives & pine nuts). The local white wine, cafe & a grappa.... what more could you want?!?

Silvia's is run by sister and brother and their menu of the evening was: pasta with pesto, at the Genoese art and made, like in the past, in a marble mortar with the pestle, fillet in pepper sauce (speciality of the brother ) and homemade crème caramel. Her tables are at the same time informal but very fine and the atmosphere and service much more than friendly.

Bianca's serves really first class food in a charming environment, full of uncommon objects from all over the world, on elegant tables with white cloths as far as the floor and with care of all tiny particulars…
Favorite Dish: and to make your mouth waters, here is the menu: pansotti (fresh pasta filled with spinach and ricotta cheese) in nut sauce (a mixture of nuts, garlic, the soft part of bread soaked in milk, majoram all crushed in a marble mortar), Genoese cima (meat filled with a mixture of eggs, vegetable and cold meat) served with Genoese spinach (made with pine nuts and raisins) and a fabulous montebianco (a very hard working dessert made of smashed boiled chestnuts, chocolate and flavours and then covered with wipped cream)

put together at a Bianca's multinational table a Peruvian couple, an Italian who lives in Spain, other two family friends one of whom with realtives in London, a Genoese couple whose he is a doctor who kept almost a lecture on the "lavativo", a very old equipment for enema... and this couldn't be more funny and pleasant, belive me… plus a younger group made of Silvia and Maurizio (see next travelogue), a VT ambassador, a foreign friend from US with Italian origin and a VT royal assignment, and an outsider, me ;-)…

after being flabbergasted by the sea view, this "gozzo" (the small boat in the pic) could seem the best mean of transport but I would suggest a car or a motorbike to reach villa utttz... there is also a bus service which is better (personal experience ;-)...) not to meet while climbing up there... and which is not the only risk: I was said you can also have to share the narrow road with the milkman's van...
and thanks for the nick I got in a mail: "Taxi Service Pollon serving Liguria, Piemonte with service to Cristofor Colombo..."

Miscellaneous: ehi VT folks, in case you visit this, I would be happy to be your taxi service too so I could not only enjoy a new VT meeting but also this place ;-)...
