Favorite thing: Saved by the bell...
It was right about this time when Geisha_Girl called and gave us info about a VT meeting planned in our honor in the seaside town of Sestri Levante..needless to say, we took the train and skipped Monterosso al Mare.

Favorite thing: One of the more interesting things about Vernazza is the amount of dogs and cats that roam the streets. These are not stray animals, but people's pets that hang out in the sun and in the vineyards all day before going home at night. The entire town takes care of them and in a way are owned by all that live there. They are all healthy and clean, making it a pleasure to be around them.
Fondest memory: The views from above this town on the Via delle amore is what makes this town completely worth the trip. Not to mention the resturants, people and general secluded atmosphere.

Favorite thing: A big effort has been made in the CINQUE TERRE to recover what was buried under meters of mud.
Here there is an interesting passage, with a significant title: - From Floods to Flowers -

Favorite thing: One fair skinned person was braving the cool waters of the harbor. The water temp was compared to "Alaska."

Favorite thing: I see land!!
The trail was magnificant but seemed to last forever. The sight of Vernazza was a welcome one..the smell of gelato was in the air.

Favorite thing: Vernazza is built on the rocks above the sea. On this rock there is a restaurant and the castle on the very top, from where is a magnificant view to the open sea, and entire Cinque Terre area!

Favorite thing: At least for me Vernazza is the best of the "cinque terre", very good positision, once you can make to Riomaggiore in on day and the other to Monterosso, plus is the cutest.
