The bar/cafe on the point in Vernazza is a great place to relax and unwind after a hard day of hiking.
It is a meeting place for locals and tourists to catch up on the events of the day, try some of the Cinque Terre wines and do a bit of people watching - not to mention watching another of those beautiful sunsets!
As of Sep 2007, we have visited Vernazza four times, and at least once on each visit we have spent a couple of hours at Baja Saracena, enjoying a beer or glass of the local wine, and enjoying the sunset. Magic.

In the evenings it is just nice to enjoy illuminated Vernazza. The castle, the church, Piazza Marconi and the streets are illuminated and that warm yellowish light gives it a special touch!
Dress Code: Be sure to have a sweater with you, because once the sun is away it gets kind of cold!

Now if you want to see something really romantic - how about a sunset over Vernazza? We were lucky to have this fantastic terrazza to our room, so this wasa true highlight!! But have a look at the pictures yourself!

Stay in Vernazza untill late night (as late as possible:) and you'll see the real bauty of it. Restaurants, the main square and the mai street - the life goes there! Sit on the stones by the port. Sit on the bench in the main street. Have a walk through some narrow "street-stairs". Hear street musicians. Finally, taste some specialties. Admire light playing the main role while it's getting dark in Vernazza.

The Cinque Terre has some of the most beautiful sunsets I have ever seen.
My favourite thing to do in the evening is to pull up a seat at a bar, just sit by the harbour and watch the sunset.
It is also a great opportunity to do some people watching - as everyone seems to be out enjoying the view!
Dress Code: Make sure you have a warm top - it can get cooler after the sun sets.
