Miscellaneous: Each of the 5 Cinque Terre villages has its own Tourist Information Office. Most of them are located just near the train station.
They offer all kinds of free brochures and sell tourist souvenirs. Just make sure to pick up at least one of the more detailed brochures with a map of the Cinque Terre and some useful information.

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Don't forget to pack some shoes suitable for walking/hiking along the cliffs between the towns on the Cinque Terre.
When we were walking, we saw one lady in high heels about to set off.....we advised her to turn back!
Photo Equipment: A camera is a must. The coastline is spectacular. Digital is best - that way there is no limit to the number of photos you take!!

Luggage and bags: You might want to pack light - including a small suitcase or backpack! Remember that there are lots of steps and narrow streets in Vernazza and it is hell having to carry a huge and heavy suitcase up all those stairs!
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Definitely good walking shoes if you want to do the hiking trails!
Photo Equipment: Loads of memory cards or films, batteries
Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: Sunglasses and sunscreen and something to cover your head!
