Cernobbio Travel Guide

 Aurorae Says:  When you're leaving Cernobbio there is a castle on the hill under which the road is passing. I know nothing about it, but I would like to find out! SO, once I do, I'll update this page... It's very nice and interesting position, quite different from the usual... 

 Aurorae Says:  From the "sunbathing" square to the "monument" square there is a lovely promenade with benches, arches of trees and of course a wonderful view! If you have the time, sit at one of the benches and enjoy the scenery! 

 Aurorae Says:  Stepping inside the old town of Cernobbio, right beside the lake square, you'll mett lots of lovely colourful houses, some even look German/Austrian to me, although with brighter colours! This one I liked in particular... 

 Aurorae Says:  I don't know the name of this square either, but there is this big pink building named Berry's Bar, probably there is a bar as well, but I haven't explored... However, it is commonly used among the locals for sunbathing - they tend to gather on the benches in front and enjoy... 

 Aurorae Says:  I couldn't stop admiring this very beautiful house! It is right behind the restaurant on the "square", and the river is passing in front of it, and a few meters down it joins the lake. To enter the villa there is a big gate and then you have to cross a cute little bridge.I... 

 Aurorae Says:  Don't miss this wonderful restaurant at the same square, just a few meters from the monument! Even if you have no eating plans, at least stop by for a drink! It's in full glass and gives the sensation of being in the open space. Another peculiar feature is the waitor! The... 

 Aurorae Says:  This is another splendid pizzeria in Cernobbio. Its location is not spectacular - it's right on the main road to Como facing the street, but they have a very delicious calzone! Odd enough, Cernobbio has the best pizza's I've ever had! This is the second place I tried in... 

 d_d Says:  Probably, in my opinion, the easier way to come and visit Cernobbio is by boat.You can take a pubblic (they are really nice) boat from Como (see) or other lake cities.It's faster and cheaper than bus. 

 Aurorae Says:  This is a typical boat of the Como lake, a bit modernized version. This one is even named Cernobbio! You won't see them around the lake so often anymore, but sometimes they will surprise you! I like this strange boats very much! Especially when theyhave a "tent" open on the... 

 Aurorae Says:  Behind the restaurant I was talking about so much there are swimming pools, and in winter they can freeze and serve as a skate rink, however I haven't seen anyone doing that at the time we were there, the entire square was empty and we were the only guests of the restaurant... 

 Aurorae Says:  Isn't it incredible that in such an industrial area as Lombardia, and only 50km from Milano there is such a clear water?! Everywhere around Como lake the water is so clear! Transparent, clean, wonderful colours... Hard to believe! Even in the bigger towns, like Como, it is... 

 Aurorae Says:  At the big lake square, behind the monument occupying it in the center, there is this children "circus" with the rides for the youngest. Nothing pompous, but entertaining enough for children, and it also looks nice on the square I think. So, while you admire the lake or even... 

 Aurorae Says:  Since Cernobbio is on the lakeside, there is a small port filled with usually small boats of the locals, here you won't find huge yachts and sailboats like in Como for instance. However, it might be different in front of Villa d'Este :-)
