I think the best option to visit Certosa di Pavia is via Pavia. Take a train from Milano Centrale to Pavia (about 2.50 €). Visit first Pavia and then take a bus from the bus station to Certosa di Pavia.
It costs 1.35€ one way. The MILANO buses departure every 30 minutes from the platform 1 or 2.
If in doubt, ask the driver whether he actually passes Certosa di Pavia.

From Certosa di Pavia you can take the bus to Milano. You can buy the ticket at the dark green kiosk at the bus stop. (Pavia - MIlano 2.50€)
    Ticket prices in December 2009.

The buses don't stop close to the charterhouse. You have to walk 20 minutes. There is a direct bus line to the charterhouse but the bus service is poor.

    Parking Certosa

When you arrive to Certosa di Pavia by car, you have to park it at the Certosa parking, located very close to the chartreuse. The parking costs 2.50 euro for cars or motorcycles, 4 euro for campers, 10 for buses. Don't try to avoid the parking-keeper! The money is used to maintain the church.
