Il Birrivico is one of the friendliest bars you'll ever come across. It doesn't matter if you can't speak Italian, or whether you're young or old. You'll get a big welcome in here regardless.
What's more they have a great choice of drinks on offer, especially beer.
It's not in the centre of town so it takes a bit more of an effort to find it. It's not far but it's definitely worth hunting out.
Dress Code: It's a casual sort of bar so casual clothes are the most suitable.
A nice little brewery, opened since 1970 i guess. A cheap place where you can eat crepes, sandwiches and drink beer, tea or infusions. You will also find (for free) a lot of board games like Risk, Monopoly, Trivial, etc...
It's a kind of historical location in Como , you can't miss it!
P.S. The owner is a funny old lady from Netherlands, the pub deserves a visit just for her!
Nightlife in Como it's a bit boring....
In the summertime you can go near the stadium on the lakeside and drink something to the Pura Vida, the Cube or the Ratafià.
In the wintertime there's some crowded bar in Piazza Volta and in Via Diaz.
The Cactus Juice is a nice place where you can have nice mexican food and spend the rest of the night with friends.
I usually go there after dinner, and the atmosphere is great.
If you a planning to go there on Friadays and Saturdays, I strongly recommend to book in advance. It is always VERY busy (it may also be difficult to find a parking area)!
Nice place, nice people.

This old boat, called Lario, is turned into the snack bar and gelateria. It is situated in the harbour of Como offering drinks and ice-dream in the enjoyable "sea-wolf" amosphere of its interiors while gently swinging on the water. Besides, since it is situated in the middle of the lakeshore promenade, there is no better place for people wathing while walking by.
This is a beach bar/restaurant about half an hour's drive north of Como which on Friday and Saturday nights turns into a nightclub. The restaurant is open every day from midday to 11pm, and the beach bar from 10am to 4am. Entrance is free and drinks aren't as expensive as in most nightclubs (5 euros for a beer, 6 for a cocktail, and like most places you pay first then get your drink).
There is a covered dancefloor with a bar, but there are gazebos on the beach with seats and candles, and people often dance on the beach. See the website for some nice pictures.
I've been to this place twice; the first time was lovely weather and it was great. The second time it rained and was rather a wash-out. However I'd recommend it, at least when the sky is clear!

Tartaruga is in Villa Guardia a little town near Como (about 15 minutes by car).
