Desenzano is pretty small townlet in the winter times and very crowded in the summer and during the weekends. It offers lovely promenades, several kilometres long, along the lakeshore and the one which stretch along main shopping area.
There are dozens of cafe-bars, all over the place, where one can seat and people watcing while sipping his drink or irresistible esspresso.
Another lovely scene from the old core of the town. The houses are very close to each other, makes you feel like in the Mediterranean area. There are many archways around, connecting the houses in endless row.
The old core of Desenzano looks fascinating with its short and narrow streets and in particularly with lovely passageways. Most of the houses are painted in vivid and different colours, which makes whole place very pitoresque.
The human imagination have no limits, especially in Italy. This small pupet of Santa Claus is climbing up to the terrace with bag ful of presents. Very exciting scene, especially for the kidds. Aren't we all kidds, at least for the Christmas times.
In occasion of Christmas, the whole place is nicely decorated with illuminations and Christmas threes. The small boat port, situated in the heart of the town, is turned into the stage showing the scenes from the life of the Christ.

Yes, this swans looks almost domesticated when hanging around the place. They are also friendly, but only when feeding them. It is, however, not recommendable teasing them because they don't hesitate to attack if so.
What Ma Kettle and I enjoy most about Desenzano, is the fact it is pedestrian friendly. It is a people town, and the biggest decision we face when we leave our hotel, is, go left, or go right ??
The community offers many opportunities to just sit, and gaze. Wonderfully clean and well maintained town.
At any time of day or evening, couples sit quietly, side by side, watching the waves lap against the rocks.
Nothing can be as peaceful.
