Favorite thing: Only 52 km Milan, Lago di Como has always been a destination for the Milanese. The lake takes an inverted "Y" shape and each little town and village beckons to you. Lake Como is long (50km), slender and extremely deep. The southern end forks into two long "legs, with the picturesque town of Bellagio situated on the promontory between them.

Favorite thing: These big trees, about whom I read only in the novels, left a strong impression on me.
There are lots of villas around to see, but if you go to the one near the water in Bellagio, you will definitely see these trees and japanese garden.

Favorite thing: The water at the lake is amazingly clean amd clear! Who would believe that it's just a step away from hyper polluted Milan, nobody would expect the lake to be a Lombard lake! Especially since there are towns with good industry on the lake, and it's quite opulated! But it's a glacial lake, and surrounded by high mountains, and it gives a sensation of being sort of isolated from Lombardia... But I still can't stop admiring how clean the water is! EVERYWHERE! Even in the big towns like Como or Lecco...

Favorite thing: The inevitable ducks, of course! They are EVERYWHERE around the lake! They are kids' favourite toys ;-) and they are so tame that they will run after you asking for food! They got used on people, and on being fed!

Favorite thing: Or almost. Some of the villas are so pompous and rich that they really resemble castles! They are surrounded by stylish fence and enormous property with lush decorated park, and very castle alike architecture. This villa reminds me a lot of the Romanian architecture!

Favorite thing: You will often run onto churches on the lake. Most of them would be easily accessible by the road, so you wouldn't have to stray from the path in case you want to see them. And they are truly beautiful! However, there are very lovely hidden ones, in the hills or towns a bit inside, not straight on the lake...

Favorite thing: Beside the chit-chat bench there is another arhaic feature - a water tap. Before, people used to bring water from this place. Nowadays it's used for refreshment. Pay attention to the tree behind, the famous chit chat labeled tree. It is growing over the plate hanging from it!

Favorite thing: In the towns around the lake you'll find the squares connected to the other squares or little streets with arched passages, and the break through of lights in there can be so charming! EVerything is so beautifully arranged, with taste (what else to expect in Italy?!)
Taking a walk is a real pleasure, wherever your eye turns, you'll find something beautiful...

Favorite thing: Many VIP people are having extremely expensive villas by the lake side. Just some of the names: George Clooney, Sylvester Stallone, Michael Schumacher... All are worth dozens of millions of euros... Spicy!!! But there are beautiful villas for ordinary mortals as well, for some more reasonable price!

Favorite thing: This is really hilarious! In Sala Comacina, by the lakeside, there is this tree with a bench over it, and the inscription on the tree says "the chit-chat bench"! :-) People of the place used to gather around and talk... Lovely!!!
