Favorite thing: There are many small, cute ports around the lake, surrounded by coourful houses, and full of typical wooden boats, but also modern ones. There are also many fishermen boats.
Favorite thing: As said above, the lake has a climate suitable for growing Mediterranean fruits, and there are many orange, lemon, grapefruit and pomegranate trees. Here is a lakeside garden with olives and oranges.
Fondest memory: I thought I'd indulge a little and show you another photo of the castle, one that would approximate the vision Goethe had rowing down the lake and then sketching it in its lovely setting.
Favorite thing: This small but attractive piazza is in the central part of Malcesine and, should you wander the narrow alleyways, you will stumble on it; the town isn't that big!
Favorite thing: Marinas are dotted everywhere, as indicated in other photos and this, in Desenzano, was about the prettiest I saw. The only detraction was the floating (and sunken) debris that man has left behind.
Favorite thing:
wonderful scenery, lovely villages, good wine and romantic sunsets... (amongst other things!)
