The nice Hotel Helvetia has got a very good restaurant where you can taste a delicious Valtellinese cousine. I can suggest to try the tourist menù where you can taste Pizzoccheri, Polenta and ragaut!!!
This restaurant has a simple bustling dining area which was very busy both times we went (we had to book in advance). The waiter was excellent, very attentive but knew when to leave us alone. The speciality is a selection of raw meats which you cook youself on a hot stone in the middle of your table- this was a big hit with my partner, he had it both times! The venison was lovely, as was the lamb. The sweerts were just as nice, especially the apple fritters.
What a fantastic place to eat, during the lunchtime or evening. The food and service are second to none. We have visited Livigno now for the past few years and they recognise us and give a very warm welcome. There is also a lounge area where you can relax after dinner which is a great way to round off the evening.
Try it you won't regret it!
Favorite Dish: Make sure you have a Bombadino or two while you are there!!
This is the most exclusive restaurant in Livigno, it doesn't have many tables so it's important to reserve. It's not somewhere you would eat at every night because it's expensive but certainly worth it for a special occasion.
Favorite Dish: I always choose the Gourmet Menu which has 7 courses.
This is the busiest restaurant in Livigno, there's always queues outside waiting to get in, the reason being it's very cheap & the portions are huge. Also when you've finished your meal the owner promptly plomps a couple of bottles of grappa on the table for you to drink at your leisure. Don't expect great service, but it's certainly a restaurant not to miss in Livigno.
Favorite Dish: Pizza & Pasta
