    Free bus in Livigno

by Liolio Updated Apr 4, 2011

There are three lines of free buses in Livigno. It is a great service as you don't have to pay for the bus and you can easily get around. The buses are going quite often, maybe each 10min. The buses stop at all skiing points and go through the center. Very comfortable.

    Transfer to Livigno

    by grscott123 Written Jan 6, 2007

We travel from the UK to Milan - Bergamo with Ryanair (very cheap), the best form of transfer has been hiring a car to the resort. You can pick up a one day hire from Orio al Serio and there is a drop off point at the San Rocco church in Livigno.

At the end of the week you can arrange collection from San Rocco and drive back to Bergamo. You will have some charges in relation to a one way trip however its 50-50 with regard to cost of a one way trip vs a weeks car hire. The journey takes approx 3.5 hours.

  • great free bus service

    by andriane5 Written Feb 21, 2006

Make the most of the free bus service in resort. There are 3 routes which take you all around the resort and between the 2 main ski areas. They are extremly punctual and regular, a very useful service.

  • Not really a 5 hour transfer

    by andriane5 Written Feb 21, 2006

All tour operators advertise Livigno as having a 5 hour transfer from Bergamo airport. This does not have to be the case! All the tour operators stop for 45 minutes at a half way point, this is actually very annoying as you just want to get to resort. On our return transfer it would have taken just 2 hours 45 minutes without the stop half way.

  • Getting to Livigno from the airport

Livigno isn't an easy place to get to so if you're an independant traveller it's important to know that you have to arrive at the airport in the morning otherwise you won't arrive in Livigno that night if you're using public transport. The last train from Milan central station to get to Livigno leaves at 12.15 & after getting a bus to Bormio from Tirano, then another bus from Bormio to Livigno you arrive at 17.45.

A taxi from Bergamo & Milan Airports costs €240 one way.

    Long transfer times

There is a long transfer to get to Livigno from any airport. I have gone in from Zurich and Bergamo and it is 4-4 and a half hours either way.

My guess is the best way to visit Livigno is as part of a package where your transfers are included, it won't be easy trying to arrange your own way to this resort.
