Favorite thing: The water of lake Maggiore in Maccagno is crystal clear, pure, transparent, looking at it you feel like drinking it. Nature is unpolluted there and you can enjoy all the beauties of this paradise place. Often along the water line there would be flowers in the rocks, which makes it even more beautiful. And the glitter in the shallow waters among the rocks in the late afternoon is one of my favourite things as well.

Favorite thing: There is a beach where I always saw a bunch of dogs playing with their masters! It's a mini dog-training site. :-) They went into the water even if it was cold, but they were faster to get out just as well, he he! ;-) In spite of lots of dogs, the area is very clean, people take care after their pets' actions! :-)

Favorite thing: I don't know if this is a real or artificial river, but it runs from Maccagno Superiore and arrives to Maccagno Inferiore at the spot where the museum is. There is some sort of a dam with cascades, too, but I don't know if it has some practical purpose or it's just a decoration. The area around is very beautiful!

Favorite thing: Like in all lakes, there are ducks and swans. They are domestic animals there, although wild. To tell the truth, in Maccagno they're not as numerous as in other places on the lake, but they are still there. Female ducks like to hide in the "pool" behind the museum with their ducklings! They are so cute!!!

Favorite thing: Maccagno is such a beautiful place that wherever you turn it's inevitable to enjoy breathtaking scenery. At least it was extremely beautiful for me. I love the combination of blue water and skies with luch green hills, mountains and exuberant vegetation, barges, sailboats... It's a paradise for all senses!

Favorite thing: Of course, like all the other places around the lake, Maccagno is exuberant in Mediterranean vegetation, although far from the sea! There are palms, citrus fruits, olives, flowers... Most of the houses have beautiful yards with lovely foliage.

Maccagno Inferiore is one of the most beautiful towns I have visited, and definitely one of the best of Italian lakes. Maybe many would disagree with me, because it's small and quiet, but tastes...
