Favorite thing: I mentioned that the Piazza del Duomo seems like a natural center in town. In front of the Duomo itself is the piazza and it is occupied by pigeons, tourists, street vendors and people trying to sell pigeon feed to the tourists. The people trying to sell the pigeon feed were a bit aggressive and annoying. Even if you said “no” they tried to grab your hand to put some food into in order to attract the birds. We eventually managed to outmaneuver them :-).
Fondest memory: Another place to mosey through is the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II. This is an old and elegant arcade that connects Piazza del Duomo with the Piazza delle Scala (where you will find the world renowned theater Scala). The building houses shops and cafes (including a McDonalds that seemed a bit out of place there) and there is a special atmosphere due to the glass ceiling and the mosaic floor.

Fondest memory: It is a unique experience when you get to listen to classical music by famous Italian composers like Verdi while enjoying the ancient architecture near the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele and the Duomo. This is an excellent nightlife spot. Many people like to take an evening stroll here and eat an ice cream.

Favorite thing: The Galeria Vittorio Emanuelle possesses an entry on the place in front of The Scala, and the other entered on the place, next to the Duomo.
It is a commercial gallery typical of the XIX th century, to the impressive measurements.
The entry of the side of The Scala, is monumental, but of reasonable measurements. It is located at the bottom of the place.
The entirely glazed arch is remarkable, with in its center a very impressive dome.
The entry that is of the side of the Duomo to been treated of monumental way, with an air of Triumph bow. Many fast-food is implanted there.
Fondest memory: Close to the entry, an all small boutique, nearly petty, must not escape your attention. It is the famous Borsalino store, the creator of the famous hat.
The Galeria Vittorio Emanuelle is the place of a strange custom and you should not wonder therefore if, in its center you see some ladies, or of the girls to deliver themselves to a very particular pagan ritual :
On soil, a bull made of ceramics has, he decorated the power to bring to the women happiness in their emotional and in love relation. For it, she must put the foot on a very precise part of the reproduction of the animal, and to make three tower on her even. You will mark the place where to put the foot and the part of the animal in question when you will see the wear of the ceramics.

Favorite thing: See the square with the Duomo Cathedral and the beautiful glass-covered mall (entrance in the same square as the cathedral).
Also check out the castle and ruins of the old walled city (in the center of town).
Fondest memory: Walking in the pedestrian areas and marvelling at the beautiful architecture of the old city, and finding a 'bohemian' kind of area by accident. Also finding out that the bars have a 'happy hour' with free buffets full of yummy Italian food - order some drinks (liberally poured, I may add) and load up on an early and cheap dinner.....

Favorite thing: Visit Galleria next to one of Italy's largest cathedrals. This is the heart of Milan as the Duomo and other restuarants are located the vicinity.
Fondest memory: The food and gelato I will miss the most. Just writing about it makes me salivate! but I will be back.

Favorite thing: Go to a happy hour. Between 6 and 8, 9 or even 10 pm, almost every pub or bar is offering some food or buffet for free if you buy a drink which usually is half price or at least with a discount. It's very popular among the young people and it's not difficult to find a place where to have a complete dinner (on buffet) buying a beer or a cocktail (prices from 4000 lit to 10000 lit: 4 to 10 dem, 2 to 5 Euro). Not many places in Italy are doing this way.

Favorite thing: Milan is a most beautiful city with a lot of thing to see, in special the Victorio Emanuelle II Gallery, la piazza de la Scala, la piazza Duomo and the Santa Maria de la Graziq Church where Miguel Angel painted the last dinner.
