    Inside the museum

Favorite thing: The Science and Technology Museum in south-west Milan boasts one of the world's leading science and technology collections. Housed in the 16th-century former Olivetan monastery of San Vittore since 1947, the museum has a huge number of exhibits in four different buildings. Highlights include the first mechanical counting machine - which was invented in 1642, state-of-the-art computers and displays about astronomy, acoustics, trains, air and sea travel, cinema photography, watch making and much more besides. The Leonardo da Vinci Gallery has many interesting wooden models of his numerous inventions, together with his detailed drawings and sketches. Many of the exhibits in this Milan museum are interactive

Fondest memory: Museum open: Tuesday to Friday - 09:30 to 16:50, Saturday ? 09:30 to 18:20

Favorite thing: There are a lot of museums in Milan that are free admission and, according to me, are worth a visit. The most important ones are: The Civic collections at the Castello Sforzesco, The Civic Archeological Collections in Corso Magenta, il museo di Storia naturale --Porta Venezia--, L'Acquario Civico--- Via Gladio. If you have a look at the site: www.mimu.it/ you'll find plenty of info about all the museums in Milan.

Fondest memory: Well, I have got a lot of good memories; but what most has thrilled me was the sight of the Madonnina at night. It's really great to see the statue of the Virgin shinning at night. It gives you a sensation of shelter and peace.

Favorite thing: The Science and Tecnology Musuem is a beautiful place set in an old monastry. They have sketches by Leonardo da Vinci and working mock ups of some of the things he devised.

Fondest memory: Geting away from the city into the countryside and seeing the old buildings and monastries.
