Many Low-Cost Airlines (f.e. Germanwings) offer fantastic rates to Milan! Just make sure to book long in advance!

A new and good alternative is Ryanair (http://www.ryanair.com). They fly to Bergamo, which is 50 km east from Frankfurt for unbeatable prices.
