The Dome is beautiful by day but is definitely more beautiful by night.
The Dome Square is always attracting a lot of tourists and natives and especially during the weekends many persons came here just to admire this stunning monument.
In Milan there are a lot of places where you can spent a pleasant evening (bars, discos, restaurants, parks) but the Dome Square is one of my favorite places.
Centrally located cafe/bar a couple of blocks from the Doumo.
Happy hour between 1600-2000 where you will be served free food along with your drinks. This is part of the traditional "Aperitivo" in Milan. Nice terrace in front ideal for people spotting.
Huge cocktails 0,5 liters and beers 0,7 liters from €5-9.

Come as you like. No dress code.
Duomo facade is a rather unique fusion of classical elements (columns, lintels, architraves, triglyphs) and Gothic (pointed arches, statues, filigrees). Absent from the Italian rendering of Gothic are huge glass windows. Appropriate to northern France where Gothic originated, here in Milan so much glass and sunlight would fry the congregants alive!
