Michelangelos' Last Supper was far way beyond what I expected.
It's great, enormous and you can look hours at it.
IMPORTANT : You cannot get in without reservation Best to book it one week in advance

Reservations are mandatory. To minimize the humidity problem—even though the damage has already been done—25 tourists are allowed in every 15 minutes for exactly 15 minutes.
For a reservation, call 028-942-1146, number is often busy, keep trying) a minimum of three days in advance for a weekday visit, and at least a week ahead for a weekend visit (booking office open Mon–Fri 9:00–18:00, Sat 9:00–14:00, closed Sun). It's a two-minute process, and you'll hang up with an appointed entry time and a number (€6.50 entry plus €1.50 reservation fee, cash only, pay upon arrival, visits scheduled at 9:30 and 15:30 cost €3.25 extra for guided visit in English.)
The Last Supper is open Tue–Sun 8:15–18:45 (last visit), July–Sept maybe open Sat until 21:45 (last visit), always closed Mon. You'll be asked to show up 15 minutes before your scheduled time (10 minutes should be enough but if you're a minute late, you get no supper).
When an attendant calls your time, get up and move into the next room.

The whole act of getting in to see da Vinci's Last Supper is an experience in its own. You can't just pop by, you'll have to reserve the tickets through the Internet well in advance - otherwise you'll miss it. Once you get there, you'll be led though four security doors, and you'll have a few minutes to check out the fresco before you're guided to the museum store. If only the master would have known. This piece of art was definitely one of the highlights in Milan. There are always huge queues outside the gallery, so you need to be there early enough to make a reservation. If I remember right, there are only a couple of exhibitions per day. For students (or at least for us, who had an international student card) the visit didn't cost anything =) Leave a Comment
