Right in front of the Duomo, you will see the statue of King Victor Emanuel II on a horse. It was created by Ercole Rosa in 1896. On the base you can see a relief depicting the entrance of the Piedmontese troops in Milan during the War of Independence. On the sides of the statue there are two marble lions.
