Right in front of the Duomo, you will see the statue of King Victor Emanuel II on a horse. It was created by Ercole Rosa in 1896. On the base you can see a relief depicting the entrance of the Piedmontese troops in Milan during the War of Independence. On the sides of the statue there are two marble lions.

This major icon to Milan shopping is quite stunning. The marble floors, the entry arches, the glass dome. All for the sake of shopping and eating and sightseeing. Built between 1865 and 1877.
