    Strolling around it

by shavy Updated Nov 20, 2014

After we've seen inside, we decided to walk around the castle before leaving the place. We don't want any regret leaving without seeing the surrounding of this medieval fortress. It was really nice strolling around the wall, you won't see a lot except the huge wall beyond.

During our walk we've seen some nice gardens, parks for children. I have the feeling this place were busy in the summer for family outing. And there were some shows held outside the castle, it certainly given outside where we've seen some benches. We also seen birds such as eagle and owl. Probably they use the birds for the show

The main street leading up to the castle

by shavy Written Nov 20, 2014

There is only one entrance to the castle and before you entering, you'll have to pass through a restaurants, souvenir and many more shops. Is not a high season during our visit, as we can see it is very quiet here.

In this typical medieval village, placed on a hilltop. Gradara is a perfect day trip destination it wasn’t too large or too overrun with tourists and it offered a glimpse into the interesting history of the region. Visiting the place represents an extraordinary urban and architectural combination and worth to do so

    Wandering in the castle

by shavy Written Nov 20, 2014

Castle is a fairy like place with an ancient taste, we took time to stroll around. Valuable pictures and beautiful frescoes can be admired. The Castle of Gradara consists not only of the castle itself but also of an ancient well preserved and renovated town protected by a double wall of fortifications.

This location of the Marche area in Italy. In my opinion, this area is an undiscovered jewel for tourism. Gradara's castle and the surrounding town are simply enchanting. In addition to touring the pristine castle, we enjoyed our stroll

    Car parking outside the castle

by shavy Written Nov 19, 2014

Parking is not free if you want to visit the castle. Is low season during our visit was in November. Payable parking is the only way where you can stands with your car. Seems they are have often control for parking ticket here. We've ask at the tourist office

Be sure to buy ticket before leaving your car and put it below the windshield. Payable parking from 8 am to 8 pm. Ticket price is 1.50 euros for an hour. If you want to walk inside the castle and seeing every details in it, you can't be back in an hour. For sure, buy a parking ticket for 2-3 hour. The machine only accept cash no credit card
