Festival Leo Ferrè
The "Centro Leo Ferrè", by his director Giuseppe Gennari, organizes this very interesting and important festival since 1987. Artists like Alan Stivell, Juliette Gréco, Georges Moustaki, Jean Ferrat, Paco Ibañez abd many others contributed to make this festival one of the most important in the world about the great Leo Ferrè.
In the 2003 the Prix Ferrè has been won by Serge Gainsburg.
Get bronzed at solarium CACAO CLUB
We have sun, sea and beach, so it shouldn't be a place for solarium... But, in effect, it is... :) people like to get bronzed, all year long, and especially before the summer season... They like to go to the beach already bronzed. CACAO CLUB is a beautiful solarium in the very downtown SBT where many people go 12 months a year... Sometimes i go too... :)
Home fish dining
We are used to invite friends at home eating special fresh fish... Usually our mother prepares everything and, usually, women are not allowed :) Ok, maybe at the end of the dinner... :))When you have this kind of dinners don't look at your mirror the day after... Your face is tired, and your belly look so big!!!
Caffe Florian is the most central bar in our town; in effect is not "Sooo Beautiful"... it's just a normal historical bar, but it has its atmosphere... Every age people come here from morning till night... and if you are here you're sure to be in the most central point of our town. I like this place for aperitivo time, but you can have breakfast and even lunch... Very good icecreams!
Youngs playing pool
When i was a young student, we had a place where to go when we didn't go at school, and we needed a hiding place where to spend 4 or 5 hours. It was the SALA GIOCHI SOTTERRANEA, a place where we used to play pool (parigina game, with 8 and 15 ball on the side holes).
Well, today i can still see young students making exactly the same things we used to... :) I hope they will never close it, because it is a piece of history of our town.
Walking in the harbour
If you like real things, genuin cordial people, pure and fragrant air, fresh fish smell, ancient noises, come for a walk at San Benedetto harbour. In the day or, even beter, at night, when boats come back with fresh fish and wifes, restaurant owners or curios wait for them...

The Queen of Fish Food/ The Queen of Brodetto.
San Benedetto del Tronto is the best town in Italy for eating and buying fish; many Rome, Milano and Bologna restaurants are proud to tell their costumers that they are serving San Benedetto fish.
The most famous and very old recipe is BRODETTO ALLA SAMBENEDETTESE, so if you come remember that you can't miss it. In other part of Italy someone tried to imitate it, but the true brodettis the San Benedetto one.
The recipe of Sambenedettese brodetto was born just in that zone called "u labirintu " that is in that ward of fishermen with small and low houses, intersected from several alleys, that have taken the name from the activities carried out for centuries.
In a casserole with some oil, brown the onion and join a little chili pepper, then add some tomatoes, a little salt and finally a soup, prepared with heads of other fish. In this soup small cuttlefishes and squids must be put to cook; while, apart, the squills, then the large heads, then the frog-fish, therefore red mullets, mullets and S.Pietro fish are put in layers, in a casserole. With the gravy of small cuttlefishes and squids to flavor every layer, therefore put hen clams and mussels, bathing all with some white wine (Falerio dei colli Ascolani) and cook in a covered pan. Brodetto must be served on toasted bread slices.

Rugby is a real gentleman sport, and even in our town we have a very good team and a good tradition... We lay ina a very old stadium but in few years the rugby team will have a new one...!
