Marche = hiking unlimited! A Paradise!

With the majority of Marche’s landscape being rolling hills or part of Appenine Mountains, it is surely the ultimate paradise for hikers and backpackers and also mountainbikers and horse back riders. Add the caves and first class speleologic experiences and the rivers for canyoning and it is easy to understand why I cannot stop to rave about this magic province in terms of outdoor activities, especially because it is for all difficulty grades. It is still known only to insiders, but then this has its advantages because the region would surely loose its charm when it would be jammed with hikers like a majority of the Alps is. The region has two National Parks: Monti Sibillini (excellent website!), which covers an area of approx. 76.000 ha and is also stretching into eastern Umbria, the area around Preci and Norcia to be precise.
