Pianura is not famous, glamorous, beautiful, or full of things to see, but it does have some of the best pizza anywhere. I recommend grabbing a pizza from the local restaurants. The prices are cheap, about 4 euro, and you'll thank me when you're done.

A Napolitan custom

It may seem an eyesore, but most Napolitans don't use, or even own a clothes dryer. Most dry their clothing on balconies or clotheslines.

He should have waited to pass me.

There are thousands of mopeds in Naples, and you will realize why when you drive here for a couple days. They save a lot of time, and are a cinch to park in crowded areas. But watch out if you're driving a car. This kid tried to pass me on the left when I was turning left, and he took off my rearview mirror, and banged up his scooter pretty good.

Favorite thing: The first meal I would always have when going to Pianura (and Napoli in general) is a pizza (sometimes two) because Napolitan Pizza is terrific, and withdrawl symptoms can be hazardous. A Margharita will suit you just fine, and is also what most Napolitans eat as well.

Fondest memory: Definitely the food...but actually navigating the crazy streets without wrecking my truck is right up there too!!
